Metrology

Beyond the most common measurement systems, such as height gages, calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks and wedges, Plastitel uses other instruments to ensure production compliance.

For any specific request, please let us know what you require.

Our inspection tests

Plastitel uses the FARO laser measuring system, a reliable inspection solution

The laser FaroArm is an ideal tactile measurement system. For complex shapes and dimensioning, our laser FaroArm allows to measure profiles of surfaces and lines, as well as GB&T type dimensions.

This tool allows you to compare any measurement with the workpiece blueprint entered into the computer-aided design tool (CAD).

The FaroArm is a portable CMM (coordinate measuring machine) and allows us to verify:

  • reverse engineering of components
  • product quality by performing 3D inspections,
  • tool certifications
  • CAD comparisons
  • dimensional analyses.

Our stress testing

Plastitel uses Instron tools for accurate stress testing

Tension testing is used to validate the quality of raw materials and the assembled, welded and glued products.

Plastitel partnered with Instron testing products enabling:

  • Methodology aimed at simple or complex testing
  • Accuracy and relevance in accordance with international standards
  • Safe and reliable tests

Leak and pressure testing

Plastitel uses CTS tools

Leak and pressure testing can guarantee reliability of your parts. Several pieces of equipment allow us to perform simultaneous tests.

Multiple configurable pression and depression flow testing or mass leak test requirements

  • Changes in pressure / vacuum and pressure drop
  • Mass leakage pressure certified tests / vacuum and pressure drop
  • Repetitive pressure modulations / vacuum and pressure drop
  • Occlusion test (pressure and vacuum)
  • Instant playback of mass leaks (pressure test only)
  • Continuous playback of mass leaks (pressure test only)
  • Mass leak tests certified according to mass leak test standards (pressure test only)

Thickness checks

Magna Mike

Our Magna-Mike 8600 is used to measure the thickness of our products with an iron probe and ball.

This allows us to measure parts and locations inaccessible to conventional tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Thickness Gauge Magna-Mike 8600

The Magna-Mike® 8600 is a portable thickness gage that uses a simple magnetic method to make reliable and repeatable measurements on nonferrous materials. Measurements are taken by applying or by moving the magnetic probe on one side of the material to be inspected while a small metal ball (or disk, or wire) is placed on the opposite side inside the container.

This tool ensures :

  • Systematic testing for simple and complex measurements
  • Accuracy and relevance in accordance with international standards
  • Reliable and safe testing
